Headteacher to stand trial for fraud

THE former headteacher of Highdown School in Emmer Green will stand trial next year over fraud allegations.

Tim Royle, 64, of Woolton Hill, Hampshire, denied three charges of fraud involving more than £8,000 when he appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court last month. He also denied the theft of school computers, cameras and a toaster.

A preliminary hearing was held at Reading Crown Court last week where his case was listed for trial on March 2 and Royle was released on bail.

He left the school in December 2012 after 14 years.
