SIXTY people were arrested in Oxfordshire on suspicion of drink-driving during a pre-Christmas clampdown by police.
Another 213 were arrested in Berkshire and Buckinghamshire during the ?Is it worth the risk?? campaign run by Thames Valley Police throughout December.
The total was down three per cent on the 281 arrests made in the same period the previous year.
About 9,000 people were breath-tested, up 50 per cent.
Of those arrested, 219 were men, a five per cent decrease, and 54 were women (up eight per cent). Fifty-one drivers were under 25, a 15 per cent decrease, and 222 were 25 or over (up one per cent).
A total of 152 drivers have been charged, 63 were released on bail pending further enquiries and 58 people were released with no further action.
