SPEAKERS at this year’s Henley Literary Festival include singer and West End actor David Essex, the Archbishop of York John Sentamu, former England cricketer Jonathan Trott and leading authors Kate Summerscale and Victoria Hislop. Novelist Fay Weldon will make a return visit after her 2009 sell-out and food critic Tom Parker-Bowles will make his festival debut with the Fortnum & Mason cookbook. Other speakers include Labour MP Margaret Hodge and broadcaster Jeremy Paxman, who lives in Stonor, while Henley historian Elizabeth Hazeldine returns with a true-life tale of murder from the 1800s. Events will take place at venues across Henley, including the Kenton Theatre, Hotel du Vin, the town hall and the Christ Church Centre, from September 26 to October 2.
