A PUBLIC drop-in session about the future of Wargrave fire station will be held on Thursday.
The station in Victoria Road is under threat under cuts planned by the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service, which needs to save £2.4 million by 2020.
More information will be provided at the session, which will be held at the station from 1.30pm to 5.30pm.
Jim Powell, who is managing the public consultation on the savings plans, said: “The purpose is to engage communities and ensure they are kept informed.”
Wargrave fire station, which has one engine, has had problems recruiting retained firefighters in recent years but currently has nine staff following recruitment drives.
The consultation runs until Monday, March 13, with a final decision being made in May. For more information, visit www.rbfrs.co.uk
