THE Henley May Fair, which is to be held in the town centre this year, has been awarded £1,000 by the town council.
The annual event will be held in Market Place for the first time in about 30 years following the decision by Henley Round Table to pull out as organisers.
The fair, which had been held in Mill Meadows, will now be organised by a committee led by town councillor Sarah Miller.
It will take place on Monday, May 1 from noon to 5pm and attractions will include Morris dancing and a tug-of-war competition.
IBS Office Solutions has offered £500 towards the cost and the fair.
