Runner to start 10km

A MAN who ran 401 marathons in as many days will start this year’s Goring 10km race.

Ben Smith undertook the challenge in 2015 and 2016 to raise money for Kidscape and Stonewall as he had suffered years of depression after being bullied at school for being gay.

He has since raised £330,000 for various charities and has visited many schools, including Goring primary, to raise awareness.

Mr Smith, 36, from Bristol, will be among up to 1,200 others taking part in the Goring race on Sunday, March 3, starting at 11am from outside Storton Lodge in Icknield Road.

The event will be raising money for the primary school’s minibus appeal.
