Tribute to magician

10:30AM, Monday 04 March 2019

THIS year’s Wargrave Village Festival will have a theme of “That’s magic” in honour of Paul Daniels.

The magician, who lived in the village with his wife Debbie McGee, used to perform at the biennial festival before his death in 2016.

McGee, a BBC radio presenter, will give a talk about her hushand and show exclusive clips of them together at this year’s festival on Wednesday, June 19.

Other events will include a dance showcase and a family food day run by Sticky Fingers, a cooking school for eight- to 14-year-olds.

Dozens of local organisations will take part, including Wargrave Theatre Workshop, St Mary’s Church, the brownies, guides, cubs and scouts and the Robert Piggott junior and infant schools.

The festival will run from June 12 to 30 and the traditional ticket day will be held at the scout hut in the recreation ground on Saturday, April 27 from 9am.
