Club's charity dinner raises £4,000

TWO charities will each get a share of £4,000 which was raised by members of Leander Club in Henley at a recent dinner.

The speakers were former club captain Debbie Bruwer, who won silver at the Athens and Beijing Olympics, and Angus Groom, a silver medallist in Tokyo in 2021.

Mrs Bruwer manages the Henley Debt Centre, which received half the proceeds of the evening while the other beneficiary was the Leander Trust, which supports the junior rowing programme at the club.
