TV personality Christopher Biggins will turn on the lights of Henley’s Christmas tree.
The actor will turn on the lights alongside Mayor Kellie Hinton at 7pm during the town’s Christmas Festival on Friday, November, 24.
He will be accompanied by the winner of the Mayor’s Christmas card competitions and characters from the Kenton Theatre’s pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk.
Biggins is known for appearing on shows such as Celebrity Big Brother and I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! Which he won in 2007.
He first rose to fame after playing the character Lukewarm in the BBC sitcom Porridge, has performed on the West End stage and has travelled the country performing in pantomime.
Biggins said: “I’m thrilled to be turning on the Christmas lights in Henley, which is a town I love and have often visited to see friends.
“Christmas is a wonderful time of the year and I’m looking forward to meeting Kellie, the Mayor of Henley.”
Town centre manager Paul Carey said: “Christopher Biggins is a national treasure and I’m thrilled that he’ll be coming to Henley to turn on the Christmas lights this year.
“Biggins is synonymous with Christmas and it’s brilliant to have such a well-known celebrity launching Henley’s festivities.”
