WALKERS are being invited to take part in the Sue Ryder Starlight Hike next month.

The annual event, which comprises a 5km and 10km route, will be held in the grounds of Pangbourne College on the evening of Saturday, October 21.

A Sue Ryder spokesman said: “It is an opportunity to get together to remember and pay tribute to loved ones who have died, raise funds and help Sue Ryder.”

Registration begins at 5pm with a warm-up with Clubbercise and live music from local band Rufus Ruffcut before the start at 6.30pm. Refreshments will be available.

Walkers are encouraged to wear fancy dress, flashing headwear and neon face paint. All finishers will receive a medal.

There will be an opportunity for people to place a dedication to someone who was special to them.

The event is sponsored by CH&CO and suppported by Focus Resourcing and Azego.

Tim Jones, chairman of CH&CO, said: “This is an evening not to be missed.”

Tickets cost £15 for adults and £6 for children aged six to 17. Children five and under go free. Discounts for groups of 10 or more are available.
