Charities benefit from Living Advent Calendar

THE proceeds from this year’s Living Advent Calendar in Henley have been presented to four charities.

The Henley and Peppard branch of the Royal British Legion, the Regatta for the Disabled, Henley Youth Centre and Oceans Project all received a share of the £4,054 raised at the 24 performances in December.

Living Advent Calendar chairwoman Julie Perigo said: “It was very successful this year. We were getting audiences of around 100 every night, which is a huge improvement on the first two years.”

The calendar, now in its third year, takes the form of a music, dance, poetry or comedy performance, usually with a festive theme, at a variety of venues each evening from December 1 to 24.
