AN open day is to be held at St Katharine’s at Parmoor next month.
It is a retreat house founded as a charity by Lady Ryder and has hosted many notable guests over the years.
Set high in the Chiltern Hills overlooking the Hambleden Valley, the house was formerly the home of Lord Parmoor while he was creating the League of Nations and was occupied by King Zog of Albania during his exile in the Second World War.
More recently, the house has served as a location for episodes of Midsomer Murders, New Tricks and Lewis.
The charity will be providing a guided tour of the house on Friday, March 7 at 2.30pm. The ticket price of £18 includes a full afternoon tea.
