THE thought of camping is enough to fill many of us with dread — roughing it by sleeping on lumpy ground and being miles from a hot shower is not for everyone. But this year, the Henley Festival is offering the perfect alternative.
Glamping, or glamorous camping, is coming to Henley for the first time. Festival-goers will be able to sleep in the lap of luxury in fully-furnished, spacious tents which boast carpets, beds and vintage decorations.
There will be 10 cream, cotton canvas Lotus Belle tents on site, which sleep up to four people with room for two king-sized beds.
There is even space to hang clothes, a basket for shoes and a small coffee table with two chairs for campers to sit and enjoy the morning view of the river.
Stewart Collins, Henley Festival’s artistic director, said: “Glamping is a first for the Henley Festival but we think it is the kind of thing that will really appeal to people.
