Hanging baskets add up to a blooming nice tally

SIXTEEN hanging baskets have been purchased by Henley residents and businesses in the past week.

These latest orders bring the total number of baskets sold since the Henley Standard launched its Going for Gold campaign five weeks ago to 118.

We are urging town centre shops, businesses and residents to buy summer hanging baskets in order to reach a record 170 and win a gold award at this year’s national Britain in Bloom competition.

Councillor Kellie Hinton, who chairs the Henley in Bloom committee, said: “We have had fantastic support from the Henley Standard and now we really want to reach our target and get as many people buying baskets as we possibly can.

“Joining in with the campaign is definitely worth doing. The baskets make the front of businesses, shops and homes look really attractive and give a really colourful theme throughout the town.
