REGATTA Radio brings you all the coverage of Henley Royal Regatta with live commentary of every single race from 8.30am on Wednesday morning all the way through to prize-giving on Sunday evening.
Now in its ninth year, the station is run by a team of local enthusiasts and rowing aficionados. While it is run on a part-time basis, Regatta Radio produces a professional, quality broadcast experience on 87.7FM in the local area. The station is also streamed at regatta radio.co.uk or through the app available for Apple and Android smartphones.
This year, coverage will start just before the qualifying races today (Friday). If you’re at the regatta you can pick up a personal earpiece radio from the studio next to Leander Club or from one of the roving sales team. It costs just £5.
As well as commentaries, there are previews every day with Rachel Quarrell, rowing correspondent of the Telegraph, interviews with crews, coaches and spectators, fascinating items on the history of the regatta with Chris Dodd, of the River and Rowing Museum, and insights from some of the greatest names in the sport in specially recorded interviews with Steve Rider.
