BRAKSPEAR has thanked the town’s beer drinkers for helping to raise hundreds of pounds for Henley in Bloom.
The pub operator and brewery presented a cheque for £800 to the group last Monday.
The sum was raised through the sale of Blooming Marvellous, a golden ale made by Brakspear in partnership with Henley in Bloom.
Sales reached 4,000 pints - double the volume Brakspear predicted it would sell - with 20p from each pint going towards funding more floral displays in the town.
Brakspear is now planning to repeat the initiative next year. Emma Sweet, Brakspear marketing manager, said: “We’re delighted with the response to Blooming Marvellous which shows the strength of support for the Henley Standard’s Going for Gold campaign, as well as the beer’s superb drinkability during the recent warm weather.
