TICKETS are now on sale for Henley Childrens Literary Festival (HCLF), and this years programme is bigger and better than ever.
Part of the successful Henley Literary Festival, there are a total of 26 events for pre-schoolers and up including storytelling, singing, drawing, and much-loved characters compared to six last year. The Festival team will be in the town square on Saturday from 10am selling tickets, with the help of Hugless Douglas, the bear star of the bestselling books.
Harriet Reed, events director of Henley Literary Festival, says: From naughty pets to a princes potty, bear hunts to horrible science, this years line-up will fire the imaginations of all ages. By offering singing and storytelling, drawing and writing workshops, we aim to appeal to every child.
It is all about learning while having fun. Even children who think they dont like reading will enjoy seeing their favourite characters and books, such as Maisy Mouse and Hugless Douglas, come to life around the town. The week-long programme of events, from September 29 to October 5, will be ticketed and held at the River and Rowing Museum and various other venues.
There are many free events taking place at the Festival Hub in Henleys town square. Events for schools focus on subjects including the Romans, and the First World War. Harriet adds: We are lucky this year to have the financial support of Invesco Perpetual, without whose help it would be difficult to put on such a great programme.
