Housing association holds holiday fun day for families
MORE than 100 children and parents attended a free family day on Makins recreation ground in Henley.
Housing association Soha staged the event for residents of the Gainsborough estate.
Attractions included a climbing tower supervised by volunteers from the charity Adventure Plus. There were also games, a treasure hunt with prizes for every participant, a loom band jewellery workshop, circus skills and African drumming workshops, a face-painting stall and a barbecue.
Staff from the Rainbow Children’s Centre, which is based at the d:two centre in Market Place, put out toys for babies and toddlers.
Henley police community support officers Helen Anderson and Claire Hewett attended Wednesday’s event along with Mayor Martin Akehurst.
