BOB GELDOF was cheered as he yelled expletives at the crowd during this year’s Rewind Festival in Henley at the weekend.
The singer and his band the Boomtown Rats were among more than 20 Eighties pop acts who performed at the sixth annual festival at Temple Island Meadows on Saturday and Sunday.
There was a sell-out crowd of 20,000 on each day of the event, which passed off peacefully with the only problem being a traffic jam as fans were leaving on Sunday evening.
As in previous years, there was a party atmosphere at the festival with the bars doing a roaring trade and the fans donning fancy dress in a throwback to the decade known for big hairdos and tasteless fashions.
There were Darth Vader, Robocop, Wonderwoman and Bungle and Zippy costumes and a number of Freddie Mercury lookalikes.
