Christmas celebration

FOUR Christmas shopping events will be held in Goring on the final weekend of this month.

St Thomas’ Church will hold its annual Christmas fair on November 30 from 11am to 3pm.

There will be stalls selling cakes, plants, books, DVDs, preserves, arts and crafts and toys. Entry is free.

On the same day, a festive food and local produce fair will be held at the village hall from 10am to 3pm and a women’s shopping afternoon will be held at Storton Lodge from 2pm to 6pm, where there will be stalls selling perfume, clothing, hair accessories, baby wear and chocolates. Entry is 20p.

On December 1, Goring and Cleeve Pre-School will stage its annual Christmas fair at Goring Primary School from 1pm to 4pm.

There will be a nativity scene with real animals and children will be able to meet Santa in his grotto and receive a present. There will also be craft stalls, a raffle, a human fruit machine, a chocolate fountain and gift-wrapping workshops for youngsters.

Sam Brown’s International Ukulele Club of Sonning Common will perform and there will be hot dogs, mulled wine and mince pies. Entry is £1 (50p for children).
