SHOPS, cafés and restaurants in Caversham will be opening late for Christmas on Wednesday.

Many businesses will stay open until 9pm and there will be special treats and promotions for customers.

Entertainment will be provided by the Rivarate choir, who will be accompanied by the Salvation Army band, the newly-formed Caversham Bargers Choir and members of Sing For Fun.

Chris Walton, owner of Waltons Jewellers and chairman of the Caversham Traders Association, said: “This event gets bigger and better every year and the traders really enter into the spirit of things.”
