POP and soul icon Lionel Richie will perform on the second night of this year?s Henley Festival.
The Henley Standard can reveal this morning that the former Commodores star will perform on Thursday, July 9.
He said: ?I?m looking forward to playing at Henley Festival as I don?t think I?ve ever played on a floating stage on the River Thames before! There?s been some great acts perform over the years at Henley so I?m very excited for it to my turn.?
An evening of classical music will also return with an orchestral experience on Friday night with ?Who Got Rhythm?! A Gershwin Spectacular?.
Visitors can celebrate the music of George Gershwin in the company of the full Philharmonia Orchestra, as they perform a selection of timeless classics.
Festival chief executive Charlotte Geeves said: ?We have an incredible line-up for this year?s festival and I am thrilled we are able to announce pop and soul icon Lionel Richie will be joining us at what will be the best festival we?ve had yet.?
The festival also features street theatre, comedy shows, art installations as well as a variety of dining experiences.
Just 6,000 tickets will be on sale for each evening, with an exclusive early ticket release, from www.henley-festival.co.uk at 9am today Monday, January 12, and will cost from £35.
