A very pheasant offering

A PROFESSIONAL adaptation of Danny The Champion of the World is coming to South Hill Park.

A PROFESSIONAL adaptation of Danny The Champion of the World is coming to South Hill Park.

London Contemporary Theatre (LCT) will be at the Bracknell arts centre from Wednesday to Sunday, April 15 to 19, to tell the classic Roald Dahl tale of a young boy who embarks on the adventure of a lifetime with his father.

The two take on a greedy businessman and try to thwart his plans to buy their land by poaching his game pheasants.

South Hill Park chief executive Ron McAllister is excited to be collaborating with London Contemporary Theatre again, having recently worked with them on Great Expectations and Treasure Island.

He says: “I love working with the lively and energetic LCT team. We have worked with them on a series of studio shows in the past, which have been very popular with local audiences and on tour. They have built an audience for their outdoor Shakespeare’s and children shows here over the past three years, which is why Danny is such a great show for us!”

Running parallel to the show is the Little Danny Easter Course, an educational performance arts event where children aged six to 16 are encouraged to shine in their own version of the show on the professional set.

It runs from Tuesday, April 7 to Sunday, April 19, and costs £180 but includes tickets to see the young performers as well as a voucher for one adult and one child ticket to the professional show. Call 01344 484123 or see www.southhillpark.org.uk for more details.
