Household name actors join Festival line-up

ACTORS Brian Blessed, Virginia McKenna and Glynis Barber have joined the line-up for this year?s Henley Literary Festival

ACTORS Brian Blessed, Virginia McKenna and Glynis Barber have joined the line-up for this year?s Henley Literary Festival.

McKenna, who became a conservationist after starring in Born Free, and Blessed will appear at the Kenton Theatre.

Barber, the Dempsey and Makepeace star who is currently in West End hit Beautiful, will speak at the Phyllis Court Club pavilion.

Other new names include Not Going Out actress Katy Wix, award-winning comedian Tim Key, MPs Vince Cable, Caroline Lucas and Kwasi Kwarteng and former Home Secretary Charles Clarke.

BBC presenter Anita Anand will talk about her biography Sophia: Princess, Suffragette, Revolutionary while Peter Snow will look at Waterloo 200 years after the famous battle.

Melvyn Bragg and Rachel Johnson both return after previous full-house events.

The festival will take place at venues across the town from September 28 to October 4. Tickets go on general sale on July 21.
