Youth choir performs for families on finals day

HENLEY Youth Choir performed at the Barn Bar during Henley Royal Regatta finals day.

HENLEY Youth Choir performed at the Barn Bar during Henley Royal Regatta finals day.

About 50 children took part as the junior and senior sections performed during the Family Day on Temple Island Meadows. Other attractions included children’s entertainers Sharky and George, face-painting and balloon sculpting.

About 150 people watched as the senior choir performed songs including

Bridge Over Troubled Water
,

Shenandoah
and



When I Hear Music
. The junior choir performed songs from musicals including

Oliver!
,

Bugsy Malone
and
Jo Dickson, whose daughter Ella, nine, is a member of the choir, said: “It was lovely to be part of an event as big as the regatta. Both groups relished being part of it.

“The children were very excited and they were given a voucher for an ice cream afterwards.

“The feedback we’ve had from other parents was that they really enjoyed the performance.”
