A LUCKY couple got the chance to meet soul sensation Lionel Richie before his performance at the Henley Festival on Thursday.
Louisa and Jonathan Bisson, who own Brook House Furniture and Interiors, in Reading Road, Henley, went backstage to the singer’s dressing room thanks to friends of Mr Bisson and had their picture taken with the star.
Mrs Bisson, 41, said: “We bumped into some really old friends before the concert and were chatting to them and they said, ‘we’re actually going backstage, do you want to tag along?’. We obviously jumped at the chance.”
She said the star complimented them on how they were dressed and she told him: “This is actually how we dress every night!
“We were definitely not expecting it. Afterwards I was showing a lot of strangers my picture. I was so excited, it was amazing.
“He was so sweet — he was really nice and very friendly and down-to-earth. We were so nervous before we went in but he made us feel at ease straight away.”
Mrs Bisson, who lives in Sonning Common with her husband, said the pair had seated tickets for the evening.
“It was brilliant. I enjoyed it even more. It made the evening very special and we’ll never forget it,” she said.
