HENLEY’S Top Dog competition is back. In celebration of man’s best friend, we are ready to crown another cracking canine.

This year the theme is Blooming Wonderful Woofers and we are taking inspiration from the beautiful bounty of flowers that can be found in and around the town.

The Henley Standard and Naughty Mutt Nice have teamed up with Henley in Bloom for that horticultural touch.

For your dog to be in with a chance of winning this year’s coveted Henley’s Top Dog title, all you need to do is send us a photograph of your dog doing something appropriate such as wearing flowers, sitting in flowers, running through flowers, or even digging up your beloved flowerbed! You will also need to write up to 150 words explaining why your dog deserves to win.

And if you’ve entered in previous years, don’t worry, we’d love you to enter again!

To reward you all for your time and effort, we have a plethora of prizes, including a superb portrait of the winning dog painted by Henley artist Clive Hemsley — plus one for each of the five runners—up.

The winning entry and runners—up will be chosen by the judges, Henley Standard editor Simon Bradshaw, Naughty Mutt Nice proprietor Aspen Weatherburn, Erik D’Arcy—Donnelly, of the Henley Veterinary Centre and guest judge, Councillor Kellie Hinton.

You can send your entries by email to topdog@henleystandard. co.uk or to info@naughtymutt nice.com or post them on the Henley’s Top Dog Facebook page.

Asproulis coolest

“MY GREEK rescue dog Asproulis deserves to win the competition because he had a bad start in life but was rescued by the Friends of Animals in Athens and given a new chance for a happy life.

“ We have had him for more than three years now and he has blossomed into a laid back fuss—buddy for my family. He has fabulous sideburns and knows it!

Incidentally, I have never seen so many butterflies on a plant before and could not believe how well they came out in the pictures.
