HENLEY Literary Festival is running a children?s short story competition.

Stories should be no more than 500 words and can be on any subject or theme but must have the title ?Skinny Dragon?.

The competition is being run in conjunction with Dragonfly Tea and the Tesco store in Henley, where children can drop off their entries. There are two age categories, five to 10 years and 11 to 15, with £50 book vouchers for the winning authors and £200 book vouchers for their schools.

Tesco manager Simon Warren, launched the competition with Lily Mir, seven, and her twin sisters Lola and Emily, five, from Binfield Heath.

He said: ?We?re delighted to support Henley Literary Festival. They came to us to ask about supporting the competition so we?re happy to accept entries here.?

The prizes will be presented during the festival in October by Lauren Child, who is also judging the competition.

There are also adult short story and flash fiction competitions. For more information, visit www.henleyliteraryfestival.co.uk
