THOUSANDS of people attended the Henley Christmas festival on Friday evening.
Fairground rides, charity stalls and food vendors filled the town centre, which was closed to traffic from 4pm to 10pm.
The festival was opened by Mayor Lorraine Hillier and town crier Ian Beyts
Children from Badgemore, Rupert House, Sacred Heart and Valley Road schools took part in a lantern parade led by Father Christmas.
The lights on the 40ft Sitka spruce tree in Market Place were turned on by four-year-old Joshua Brown.
This was followed by Christmas carols on the town hall steps led by the Gillotts School choir and headteacher Catharine Darnton.
