Dear Santa....

A space rocket, a horse and a penguin were just three of the presents that children from the nursery at St Mary?s School in Henley asked for from Father Christmas.

The three- and four-year-olds posted their letters to Santa Claus in a special festive post box outside Henley town hall. And in case he couldn?t understand their writing, the children included pictures of the gifts they hoped to receive.

Kate Catlin, deputy manager of the nursery, said: ?It?s an exciting and fun time of the year for the children who enter into the spirit of Christmas and love coming here.?

Other requests included a Lego man, a My Little Pony toy and a toy car. Each child will receive a reply.

The children are pictured with teaching assistants Charlotte Brown, left, Alexis Perkins, right, and deputy manager Kate Catlin.
