SCARLETT COATES, 17, produced the official video for last year’s Henley Youth Festival.

She has been involved with annual festival since she was nine years old after moving to Henley from London with her family.

Her father Richard is a chef and her mother is Carol Decker, lead singer with Eighties pop group T’Pau.

For Scarlett’s festival debut eight years ago, she took part in a dance routine with friends.

This year she will be heading up a team of young film-makers to document the festival.

Scarlett, who is studying for a BTEC in creative media at The Henley College, says: “I like being part of something that is community-based. You also have a lot of creative integrity and can do your own thing.’

This will be Scarlett’s last year of taking part in the festival and she believes that over the years it has increased her self-confidence.

“It helps you with stuff in the future, particularly if you ever have to do any public speaking,’ she says.

“Learning to perform in front of a crowd breaks down your self-consciousness barrier.’
