HORTICULTURAL attractions at the second Chelsea Fringe Henley have been announced.
The alternative gardening festival, which was held for the first time last year, will have a number of new events.
These include a flower market on May 30, to be run in conjunction with Henley Allotments Association, and meditative walks in the grounds of Greys Court.
The three-week festival will open with a floral flotilla on the Thames on May 21 and close with an open gardens day followed by a musical evening at Babylon Flowers in Cuxham on June 12.
More events could be added, including a tree walk on the Culden Faw estate. Organisers Victoria Newton and Jane Macfarlane Duckworth hope to repeat the success of last year’s festival.
Mrs Newton said: “The flotilla last year was brilliant. There was music from people from Acoustic@Magoos who performed on the bandstand.”
Chelsea Fringe, which runs alongside the Chelsea Flower Show, is endorsed by the Royal Horticultural Society and promotes an inclusive approach to flowers, gardens and gardening.
