TICKETS for this year’s Henley Festival are selling quickly.
Seated tickets for the Saturday night “floating” stage performance by Shirley Bassey and vocal group Blake are almost sold out.
The opening night of the festival, headlined by Sir Elton John, sold out in December.
Jo Bausor, head of marketing, said sales were on a par with the same stage last year, when a record 26,000 people bought tickets.
“Saturday night is proving very popular but other nights are by no means unpopular,” she said. “There are Saturday tickets left but not in every category.
“Our residents’ season tickets, available to people who live in RG9 and get four nights’ admission for just less than the price of three, are selling well.
“Given we had our best year in 2015, the fact we’re tracking with last year is excellent. Hopefully everyone will get the choice of tickets they want.”
This year’s line-up also includes Will Young, Elvis Costello and Bryn Terfel as well as a host of comedians across the five days of the festival, beginning on July 6.
