AS A 48-year-old woman, I felt it was time I looked at having a service, an MOT, after all we service our cars every year, so why not our bodies?
I was intrigued to find out just what a chiropractor could do and so I booked myself into the Henley Chiropractic Centre to have a chat with Jorgen Rasmussen.
I didn’t actually have any pain or specific symptoms in my back, it was more a case of I wanted to know how a chiropractor could fit in with my general health care.
After chatting with Jorgen, I discovered that a chiropractor is a healthcare professional focused on the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular disorders, with an emphasis on treatment through manual adjustment and/or manipulation of the bones and muscles.
Most chiropractors seek to improve the functionality of patients thereby reducing pain and other symptoms as well as educating them on how they can improve and maintain their own health via exercise, ergonomic and nutritional advice amongst others.
