IF you are with illness or injury, recovering or needing to relax then you may consider trying restorative yoga.
Everybody can benefit from yoga, even bodies that are living with illness, sports injuries, joint pain or stress. Yoga can be a way of taking control of whatever you are working with and be part of the way you manage your own health.
The YogaHenley restorative yoga class on Mondays from 11.30am to 12.30pm is a gentle class that focuses on easing joints, lengthening muscles, freeing space to breathe and focusing the mind. It’s also the perfect class for an early lunch break from work — no sweating, just release and relaxation. All you need is a yoga mat and a blanket — and to check with your doctor before you come along. The first class for new students is free of charge.
Run by British Wheel of Yoga teacher, Tina Jacobs, this class is in the Hatha yoga style and is influenced by the teaching of Italian yoga teacher Vanda Scaravelli.
It uses the breath and gravity to allow the spine to unfold and the body to experience release. It is a form of yoga that can be enjoyed by everyone — absolute beginners or experienced yogis, the stiff and rusty or the fit and supple. To join this class please telephone 07703 190523.
