THE latest trend fitness to hit the UK is BarreConcept. This increasingly popular exercise regime incorporates the precision of pilates with the positions, moves, grace and technique of ballet. Add to this the alignment of pilates, yoga and the strength from sports conditioning and you will have all the aspects of a typical Barre workout.
Sarah Palmer, pilates instructor and owner of Studio One, is introducing this exciting new workout to her timetable. Sarah’s wealth of experience in the fitness industry and extensive background in dance training ensures that this new fitness concept is delivered in its most safe and effective form. Sarah was RAD- and ISTD-trained from the age of four and danced at a national level from the age of eight. She turned professional at 17 until she opened her fitness business (TRAX fitness) in Henley more than 20 years ago after completing her RSA Exercise to Music course. Sarah taught aerobics, body conditioning and step and was one of the first instructors to teach BodyPump in the UK. After a short break to concentrate on her family, Sarah re-trained as a pilates instructor in 2001 with Body Control Pilates and set up Studio One to create the perfect atmosphere and space for her classes.
BarreConcept is the first barre course in the world to gain international accreditation and Sarah has just completed the course with Emma Newham, founder of BarreConcept.
Basic barre work will be introduced to Sarah’s existing pilates classes to provide more standing work and variety. However, there will also be weekly BarreConcept workouts from April for those who wish to experience the total Barre workout which includes the cardiovascular element.
The workout produces dramatic results that sculpt and redefine the entire body. Bookings for beginner workshops (£20) are now being taken for Thursday, April 17 at 11am. Email email@example.com or call 07734 533731 to book.
