THIS year is going to be a particularly memorable one for the Madelaine Kelly School of Dancing, as in January it celebrates its 25th anniversary.
Planning is in place for some special events throughout the year, including the school’s first choreographic competition and a show in May.
Over the years the Wargrave-based school has gained an excellent reputation for providing first-class tuition within a caring and highly creative environment and it has built strong ties within the community.
The school offers children’s classes in ballet, modern, tap and contemporary — plus adult classes in ballet, jazz and body conditioning.
Performing is high on the agenda, with every pupil being given the chance to participate in the school’s biennial show.
From the age of 12 pupils may audition for the Fledgling Youth Dance Company, which is affiliated to the school.
A new initiative has been the introduction of the Aspiring Young Performers programme which aims to identify and mentor those students who have a desire to follow a career path in the performing arts.
The autumn term starts on Monday, September 19.
