Is your workspace friendly to your back and body?

“Well-being” begins by having a body that is working as it was designed to work. That’s where chiropractic steps in to help.

Many of us spend long hours sitting at a desk. It is important to make sure your workspace is friendly to your back and body.

Get a posture-friendly chair that is comfortable and has an adjustable height lever, arm support and the ability to swivel and roll.

Try getting up for a few minutes every half-hour. Walk to the cold water dispenser or talk to a colleague rather than emailing. Your computer screen should be in front of you at eye level. Desk work usually involves computer interaction and it is important that your head and neck do not tilt too far down while looking at your screen.

Consider purchasing a laptop stand or stacking books until your screen is level with your eyes. If you work on a laptop regularly, consider getting a remote keyboard and a mouse (or better still, a trackball).

A handheld mouse is more ergonomically designed than a built-in one, offering improved functionality.
