PILATES ABC Henley owner Alyth Yealland is passionate about Pilates.

“I love teaching my clients,’ she says. “It’s so rewarding to watch the changes in their posture, flexibility and muscle tone. Pilates has helped many of my clients with balance, back and joint pain. I am thrilled by their achievements.’

Pilates gives a gentle, balanced, full-body workout and is recommended by the charity Back Care UK. Clients range from 18 years of age to over 90. Movements are choreographed to suit each client, adapting or offering alternatives as needed.

Alyth teaches Pilates for all levels of fitness. She also teaches Pilates for antenatal and postnatal clients, diastasis recti (separated tummy muscles), arthritis, breathing, falls prevention, hip and knee replacements, osteopaenia/osteoporosis, Parkinson’s and scoliosis.

Pilates ABC Henley runs classes for the community in Henley, Crazies Hill, Hurley, Knowl Hill and Sonning Common (see advert for current timetable).

Private sessions are available. A free matwork taster is available to all newcomers and beginners are welcome.

Alyth also runs Buff Bones, medically endorsed in the US — a mixture of Pilates and other fitness skills targeted at improving balance and bone strength.
