Manager leaves club

Henley Town manager Gerry McGinty has left the club

Henley Town manager Gerry McGinty has left the club.

McGinty had been a coach at the club since April and in July replaced former manager Craig Sumner, who stepped down due to work commitments.

McGinty, who has an FA pro licence coaching qualification, has left to become youth team manager at League Two club Barnet after overseeing just two wins in 15 games as Red Kites boss.

The side are second from bottom in the Hellenic League Premier Division.

McGinty’s assistant and former Woodley United manager Jock Mowat will take charge of the side until a permanent replacement is found.

Henley face league leaders Thatcham Town tomorrow (Saturday).
