SENIOR Division basement side KIDMORE END/THE MOD are still searching for their first points of the season after slipping to a 3-1 defeat away to RICHFIELD ROVERS.
There was better fortune for KIDMORE END/THE MOD RESERVES in the Premier Division as they won 3-2 at THE COUNTY.
HENLEY TOWN AFC maintained their 100 per cent Division 3 East record with a resounding 5-0 away to FOREST.
The hosts had the better of the opening stages but good work by the visiting defence prevented Forest from getting a clear shot on goal.
Tom Essam then closed the ball down breaking up a Forest attack and played it forward to Hugh Barklem just over half way. Barklem ran through towards goal cutting across the defender before slotting into the bottom corner to put the visitors ahead.
Henely started getting on top with man-of-the-match Kieran Butler winning the ball from a Forest winger and playing it to Essam who laid it off to Arran Finch who crossed to the the back post and headed home by Barklem.
Soon after Tom Carpenter won the ball in midfield which landed in Essam’s path where he released Barklem who broke through the defence and had his first and second shot saved before getting the better of the defender and smashing in for his hat-trick.
Sam Earl took control of the ball on half way and played it through the right side of the defence for Aaron Brittain to burst through and cross the ball to the back post for Barklem to score his fourth of the match with a simple tap-in.
Butler played a ball forward into Barklem and he played it off the keeper with his shot and it landed to Finch who took it down well and played a quick one-two with Barklem before calmly slotting into the left corner for his side’s fifth of the match.
