HOSTS ROTHERFIELD UNITED crashed to a 6-2 defeat against Premier Division league leaders MARLOW UNITED at Bishopswood on Saturday.
The visitors raced into a 4-1 half-time lead with Rotherfield’s only goal of the half being scored by Simon Frost.
The second half was a closer affair with Ricky Sidhu netting for the hosts whilst the visitors added two more goals to their tally.
In Division 2 a storming second-half comeback from a 4-1 deficit at half-time saw WOODCOTE/STOKE ROW RESERVES salvage a point at home to WHITE EAGLES. The visitors raced into a 3-0 lead after 15 minutes before Andy Taylor scored to reduce the arrears. A 40th-minute goal by the visitors ensured that they held a three-goal advantage at the break.
The hosts hit back early in the second period with Craig Antcliffe converting from close-range after good work down the right from Jake Dillon. The same combination on the hour mark, with Antcliffe heading home from Dillon’s cross, made it 4-3 and 15 minutes from time Ryan Brown popped up to score the equaliser. Elsewhere in the division GORING UNITED crashed to a 4-0 defeat away to promotion-chasing WESTWOOD UNITED RESERVES.
Jack Harding scored a hat-trick for GORING UNITED RESERVES as the hosts eased to a 4-0 win against Division 4 basement side HARCHESTER HAWKS RESERVES. Lewis Evans netted United’s other goal in the match.
Elsewhere in the division WARGRAVE RESERVES went down to a 2-0 defeat away at BERKS COUNTY ROVERS.
