Worsfold's headed goal in vain for Woodcote/Stoke Row

VISITING side WOODCOTE/STOKE ROW saw their faint Premier Division title hopes severely dented as they went down 4-1 at third placed READING YMCA.

The hosts raced into a 2-0 lead in the first half before a James Worsfold header from Frank Dillon’s cross reduced the arrears. However, the hosts added two more goals without reply to move eight points clear of the visitors in the league with two matches in hand.

Elsewhere in the division ROTHERFIELD UNITED remain third from bottom after going down to a 4-0 defeat at COOKHAM DEAN in a match that saw Russell King red carded for the visitors.

In Division 2 WARGRAVE crashed to a 4-1 defeat at BURGHFIELD. Daniel Patterson was on target for the visitors. GORING UNITED went down to a 5-1 defeat at WHITE EAGLES. The hosts raced into a 4-0 lead before George O’Brien pulled a goal back for the visitors. The White Eagles wrapped up the scoring with a goal on the stroke of full time.

Elsewhere in the division WOODCOTE/STOKE ROW RESERVES were beaten 6-1 at home by HIGHMOOR U21s. Scott Gesner scored the Woodcote goal in a match that saw the visitors move off the foot of the table.

Quentin Ham and Daniel Reynolds were on target for GORING UNITED RESERVES as the hosts went down to a heavy 7-2 defeat against HURST A in their Division 4 clash.
