Rait at the double as Hotspurs tame Hearts Tigers

AFC HENLEY HOTSPURS U13s ran out 4-1 winners at Jubilee Park on Saturday in their East Berks League clash with HEARTS TIGERS U13s.

The deadlock was broken after 10 minutes when a Matthew Kernick cross found Oscar Rait in the penalty box. The Tigers keeper went to catch the ball, but under pressure from Rait dropped it and man-of-the-match Merlin Hempshall slotted home. The visitors equalised just before half-time.

Five minutes into the second half the hosts regained the lead when Rait rounded the keeper to score.

Henley’s defence of Ben Fenwick, Hayden Price, Kieran Jeffs and Ben Hodgson held strong while Nicholas Marks in goal pulled off several good saves to keep the hosts in front.

Hotspurs went 3-1 up after a David Lama run ended with Rait netting his second of the match.
