ONE of the most promising first half displays by Watlington’s Reserves this season was followed by a second half capitulation as Broughton seized the initiative to take all three Oxfordshire Senior League Division 3 points.
Town started much the brighter of the two sides and within minutes Tommy King played a neat through-ball for Keith Woolfson to run on to and divert past the keeper to give the hosts an early lead.
Minutes later Sam Carter-Knight and Woolfson combined for the latter to strike a half-volley at goal which the visiting keeper did well to parry away.
Town threatened through further chances for Carter-Knight and Ben Little, while a goalmouth scramble ensued at the other end which the home defence did well to clear.
In the second half it was the away side that seized the initiative. From a throw-in and ensuing headed challenge, Broughton found themselves in on goal and keeper Paddy Sunderland was unable to prevent the equaliser.
