HENLEY TOWN rattled in five goals as they picked up all three points from their home Hellenic League Division 1 East clash with Chalfont Wasps on Saturday.
The Red Kites got off to a bright start against bottom-of-the-table Wasps. The visitors defended stoutly to keep the hosts at bay and in the 13th minute Grant Kemp made space for himself in the area but he shot over the crossbar. Henley took the lead in the 18th minute when Ben Clark held off the Wasps’ defender to slide the ball to Kemp who fired home. At the other end Graham Sims came out of his goal to save at the feet of the Wasps striker McNulty.
Foraging midfielder Elliott Whitehouse put the Red Kites 2-0 ahead after 24 minutes before Clark, who was holding the ball up well in his unusual central forward roll, laid the ball back for Adam Jeffrey to score from 20 yards out.
Henley were now well on top and but for some determined defending by the Wasps and poor finishing they should have been further ahead.
