County rivals shoot downRed Kites in Vase qualifier

Chinnor 6, Henley Town 2

HENLEY TOWN crashed out of the FA Vase at the second qualifying round stage as they slumped to a 6-2 defeat away to Chinnor on Saturday.

The Red Kites started the game well by pressing the Chinnor goal and were unlucky in the 10th minute when a long range effort from Mitch Cooper struck the woodwork and rebounded safely into the hands of Chinnor keeper Ben Taunton.

At the other end Town keeper Graham Sims inadvertently picked up the ball from what the referee classed as a back pass and a free kick was awarded inside the box in a dangerous area but the Henley defensive wall blocked the shot.

The hosts began to take the upper hand with their more composed and well organised style of play and it was no surprise when Wayne Essex got behind the static Red Kites defence to put Chinnor ahead after 25 minutes of play.
