Harvey uses his head to secure derby clash points

THE wet weather continued to take its toll with just seven fixtures surviving in the whole of the Reading and District Sunday League.

In Division 1 West KENNET VALE moved to the top of the table following a 4-1 win at GORING UNITED.

In the early exchanges at the Sheepcote Recreation Ground the visitors dominated. However, against the run of play after 25 minutes the hosts took the lead through a lobbed shot by Mark Pearson over a stranded Vale keeper.

Goring held the lead for 15 minutes before Vale drew level after the hosts failed to deal with a near post corner.

Vale showed their superiority with three further goals in the second half. The visitors were reduced to 10 men after 80 minutes.
