A GUTSY display from Watlington Town ensured that the honours were shared in their Oxfordshire Senior League Division 1 clash with promotion chasing Middleton Cheney at the Recreation Ground.
These sides met in the first game of the season in which the points were also shared.
Both teams stared brightly with James Conn in the Watlington goal being called into action early on with a succession of good saves. This set the tempo for his performance with an impressive display between the sticks.
Watlington’s first chance of the half came on the half hour mark when a free kick from the right was flicked on by Jon Little. Bridges flung himself at the ball, diverting it goal-bound only to see it come off of the inside of the post and trickle to safety.
The visitors threatened again with a dangerous set-piece move but Conn was equal to the task, gathering the high ball well whilst under pressure.
