EMMER GREEN strolled into the next round of the Berks and Bucks Cup after beating visitors Arborfield on Sunday.
After picking up silverware from the Tilehurst Charity competition last season, Emmer Green started brightly. Chris Read’s surging run opened up the defence and after releasing the ball to Craig Eastwood the cross from the byline was smothered up by the keeper.
Emmer Green took the lead early in the second half through a Daniel Donegan free kick.
A clumsy tackle gave the Premier Division outlet the chance to level from 12 yards which they took. With the game level and tight it was a mistake from the Arborfield goalkeeper and good initiative from Eastwood as he pounced to put the hosts back into the lead.
Shortly after taking the lead Josh Beisly tried his luck from range and his audacious effort cannoned back off the post.
